VENICE BEACH PEACH

A break from the blog for a few months, but in no way does this represent the vast amount of new ground breaking pieces that have been produced this year so far.  "Restitution Taco" last solo show at the C.A.V.E Gallery was SOLD OUT!! hope you had a chance to see it.  Here is a preview of a new small edition of one off prints with imagery from the last zine in conjunction with HIT AND RUN CREW!.  These will be framed and on display this coming Saturday, April 13 2013 along side a 12 ft' mural that you'll have to see in person because it will not be posted on this blog.  Locally this year be sure to keep your eyes peeled for new spots and some commissioned murals to be dropped in Hollywood and, or Venice Beach.  Also some limited amounts of T-shirts will be made to support the ideas behind the new series.

These prints are all 18 x 24. The collage elements are from my collection of vintage 1950's magazines "How To money making ideas" and "workbasket"  My inspiration for this is drawn from music sampling like DJ artisans J-Rocc, and the whole Second hand sure shoots film by Dub-Lab.  I got many of these magazines from the same out of the Closet as DJ Nobody got his records  from in Long Beach.  Anyways a lot of this will be going on in my future series. Stay tuned at @therestitutionpress on instagram,  Thanks to Brandy Flower, Patrick & Tanya, and LA Taco.  2013

Villa Riviera

When the Villa Riviera was completed, the 447-foot high structure was the second tallest in the region—surpassed only by Los Angele's City Hall until the 1950s, it remained the second-tallest building in Southern California and "the tallest private building in Southern California.

The Art of Handicapping

Our pick from the start April 7th, 2012 "I"ll Have Another" smashes on the outside upset the favorite of the 2012 Santa Anita Derby "Creative Cause. The art captures the moment of pure courage and strength when "I'll Have Another" starts to make his historic move on the outside.  The body posture of the two inside horses is stiff.  You can clearly see the fear in there eyes as "I'll Have Another" comes form behind to over take them for the win.  Series completed in June 2012, all images by Ryan Graeff.  Limited series of 6.

Quick Profits and the allure of the Sunset Strip

Quick Profits and The Allure of the Sunset Strip, by Ryan Graeff completed May 2012.  A historic look into the Sunset strip with collage pieces from 1966 crime detective magazine True Detective.  The collage elements narrate a slightly darker under tone to the painting leaving it rich with information.  For more information email restitutionpress@gamil.com

a glance into "The L.A Taco Life"

....A glance into a new Taco series with imagery from LA Taco.  Show in the works for the end of the summer 2012.  This series is dedicated to highlighting some of the best local taco spots.  The assemblage of the images is inspired by the very mixed and diverse Los Angeles taco lifestyle.  Complex, some faded, and all saturated with flavor.  These images created in collaboration with LA Taco to celebrate food and art in LA.

Tagged poles, gum on the ground, scratched windows, and a pale florescent glow are some of the inspirations existing whiten this series. Started in march 2012..
